Kettering Town maintained their unbeaten start to the season with a 1-0 win over Stevenage Borough.
Chris Beardsley's first-half goal was enough to earn Poppies the points to stretch take their points tally to 13 points in the Blue Square Premier.

Rushden & Diamonds did not have it quite so easy. They were pegged back by an injury-time goal at Barrow having led since the 27th minute.

Leon Knight put them in front but Paul Brown pounced on stoppage time to level things up.

Northampton Town bowed out of the Johnstone Paints Trophy as Kevin McLeod's goal at Sixfields took Brighton through.

Elsewhere Wellingborough Town won 4-0 at AFC Kempston in the preliminary round of the Eagle Bitter UCL Knockout Cup.
