Rushden & Higham United midfielder Darren Farrar is facing a long spell on the sidelines after suffering a collapsed lung in their Eagle Bitter UCL Division One clash with Thrapston Town on Saturday.
Farrar was taken to hospital after the match along with defender Matthew Pinnock who needed X-rays on a suspected broken wrist.

However, that turned out to be just bad bruising and both players are now back at home.

"It was not pleasant on Saturday, especially with Darren," said Rushden boss Simon Stewart. "It was very worrying for everyone. But, thankfully, he is recovering."

Farrar and Pinnock are just two of those unavailable to Stewart for tonight's League Cup first round tie at Buckingham Town.

Pete Gregory and Jamie Guiney (both knee) are also out so new signing Simon McCarthy and ex-Rushden & Diamonds man Liam Wright will both make their debuts.

Rushden & Higham from: M Freeman, McCarthy, J Freeman, Woods, Lord, Collins, Ainge, Wright, Hook, Townsend, Batt, Kalla, Harrower, Reece, Long.
